Several Malocclusions before dentistry.  Sharp points, upper 6 hook, lower 11 ramp, incisors long in 1st & 3rd quadrants, wolf teeth, long, sharp canines, no bit seats, wave and reverse wave.

Several Malocclusions after dentistry.  Removed sharp points & wolf teeth, reduced upper 6 hook, lower 11 ramp and waves, rounded canines, installed bit seats, reduced waves & incisors.

Damage caused by severe malocclusion, a split molar gauges our equine patient resulting in severe ulceration.

This mouth also has a lower 6 ramp, 8/9 high wave visible and a lower 11 ramp.

Horses exhibit no outward signs of severe dental problems until it is too late.

Without sedation, a full-mouth speculum and a light source, this patient’s dental problems wouldn’t  have been detected.

Cuppy upper molars are noticeable in the 1st quadrant, severe steps in the second quadrant and accentuated points in the third and fourth quadrants.

There are multitudes of combinations of malocclusions in a horse’s mouth, undetectable without a complete oral exam.  Horses don’t often show external signs alerting us to their dental needs.  Routine dental maintenance helps your horse live longer by equilibrating life-shortening malocclusions.
