Charting & Fee Quotes

Dr. Allen completes a dental chart for every equine dental patient, recording pertinent medical history, documenting the results of the examination, dental abnormalities, amount/time sedative was used and I includes recommendations for your horse’s routine dental health care, as well as information regarding aftercare, etc.

To determine the fees for each dentistry case, sedation, a complete oral exam and charting of the patient’s mouth is essential.  If an exam is all that is desired, the cost (currently $60.00) includes reversing the sedation.  If the decision is made by the horse’s owner to proceed at that time the cost of the exam is included in the dentistry.

Fees are based upon the extent of the work to be done in your horse’s mouth and this is not possible to conclude until and examination is performed.

Average Dentistry Fees by Age:

Here are some averages based upon ages but it is important to realize that the actual fee for your horse cannot be determined until examined. Breed, age, environment, previous dental care and genetics all play a role in this equation.

Average fees for first-time horses 7 years & younger: $175-195

Average fees for first-time horses 8-15 years: $196-265

Average fees for first-time horses 16 years-older: $266-400

Our dental charts are 2-part, one for your records & ours.
